Given the Blest's reputation for being just, fair, and noble, it seems odd that there should be oubliettes deep under the Keep- and while this is just a rumor to most, a select few know that this is true.

However, the oubliettes are not for common criminals or even hardened scoundrels.  Instead, they are for magical vessels that hold evil supernatural beings inside; currently the oubliettes hold a lich, two vampire lords, a rogue ifrit, and seven demons.  Because they are surrounded by hallowed ground, the oubliettes are a perfect place to hold these creatures  indefinitely.  Only a great evil that desecrated the entire castle could possibly set them free...or so it is hoped.
